Factory jobs indices improved generally this month; services counterparts were stable-to-down but still showed expansion.

Abstract

In July, the Chicago PM index plunged -10 points, its biggest monthly drop since 2008. Both new orders and production indices were down sharply. Still, at 53, the  headline index did show expansion.
